Continuum of Care Builds: FY 2026 Notice of Funding Opportunity
CoC Builds Project Applications are due in e-snaps by 5:00pm on July 15, 2026. Please note that this is a separate funding opportunity from the regular FY 2026 CoC Competition that is currently underway.
Purpose
The Continuum of Care Builds (CoC Builds) NOFO funds the development of new Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) units for individuals and elderly (over 62 years old) with disabilities experiencing homelessness through new construction, acquisition, or rehabilitation. The CoC Builds NOFO outlines additional CoC Program eligible activities and costs that may be included in your application. Additionally, applicants are encouraged to leverage public and private funding sources to maximize the development of new PSH units serving individuals and older adults with disabilities experiencing homelessness.
Available Amounts
A total of $100,000,000 is available under this NOFO nationwide. Of this amount, $35,000,000 is available only for CoCs that are located in states with populations of fewer than 2.5 million people. Each CoC is only permitted to submit ONE project application on behalf of the organization that will administer the funds for a maximum of $9,000,000 (dependent on the CoC’s ARD amount), unless there is designated Tribal reservation or trust land within the CoC’s service area which allows for a second application to be submitted. HUD estimates only 8 awards nationwide, so this funding will be highly competitive.
Project Applications
The project application for the CoC Builds NOFO is currently available e-snaps. The CoC is required to review and score all submitted applications and select one project to advance to HUD’s national competition.
- Applications are to be completed by the organization that will administer the funds and must be submitted in e-snaps for CoC review and selection by July 15, 2026.
- The CoC must review project applications, notify applicants of the decision, and submit the selected project application in e-snaps by July 23, 2026.
